I am hoping someone might have some information about what I should do now... when I filed for my husbands EAD I sent it to Vermont instead of Chicago and I made the mistake of listing him as an a6 which I now understand should have been a c9. Anyway, we received the card today but it is only good until Jan. 27, 2007 (less than one month). Do we need to reapply completely or can we renew or adjust it to the correct category? It makes me sick to think that we paid $180 for a card that is good for less than a month... anyone else ever make this mistake? I was hoping they would send the whole thing back to me but no such luck. I can't seem to find the right forum or faq guide for this.

As far as I know, there's nothing you can do. You'll just have to file a new EAD as a c9, as long as you've already submitted your I-485 to adjust status.

Alternatively, you could just wait for your green card. Once you have that, an EAD is not necessary.
