Can my spouse Travel back to her country after receiving CR1

I am having a hard time getting this question answered... After my wife receives her CR1, can she travel back and forth from the US to her home country?

I have heard she must remain in the US for 2 years, is this true? Thanks.

Nope, she can travel right away if she so desires. Just make sure she does not spend 6 months out of the U.S.

Once she enters on the CR-1 visa, it will be stamped and that stamp will be a temporary I-551 or GC. She can work and travel using that stamp in her passport until the plastic card arrives. Now that she is a LPR, she must maintain her LPR status. I suggest you go to the USCIS website and look at those requirements. Should she fail to maintain her LPR status, you will have to file for a spousal visa and start the process all over again. The only thing she has to do is file for removal of conditions (ROC) 90 days before her second anniversary of becoming a LPR--i.e. 90 days before her conditional GC expires.

I would suggest you check with the airlines she intends to travel with to make certain they understand and know about the I-551 stamp in her passport as it is the airlines that give the most grief to people with unusual documentation.
