I'm only waiting for my SSN now that I have my EAD.. do you think I could start applying for jobs now? or should I wait to have my SSN in hand?

You can apply all you like just as long as you don't accept employment until you have your docs.

My SSN was in my hand 6 days after applying for it.

Go get 'em and best of luck!

I would start applying for jobs now. For some jobs the hiring process is long. My husband had an interview this morning. If the social security office is in driving distance you can apply for your number at the office and receive a printout of your ss#.

I received this message today regarding my EAD:

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On May 9, 2014, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days.

I read on VJ that I would receive a tracking number. Is this true for most people? I live in the same city as the local USCIS office; so I wonder if I will not receive a tracking number. My husband has a job interview today and we really need the EAD like yesterday.

:clock:

My case status just updated and I have the tracking number.

I'm feeling so happy. My honey had an interview this morning and another one in a couple of weeks.

nikkosan and paige, give it a few hours, (maybe until tomorrow?) i got mine on may 6h, the 1st email around noon time, and the tracking number around 4-5pm. And although the tracking number gave me a est. delivery date of 5 days, i got it the day after (may 7th). Give it a bit of time (i know its hard and every hour counts), its approved and its coming your way :)

Thanks, you were quite right!

It's in the mail, I have the tracking #, and it's coming on Monday!

Luckily, I already have a job, so I don't have to go through all of that! I'm just really happy I was approved, and hopefully with an interview date soon!

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Thank you USCIS. I changed my address online, called to confirm, and they even sent me 2 different notifications to the new address to confirm the change... YET..... They still sent my EAD card to the old address.... Two jobs: do interviews and update statuses with the right information and they still fail in them...

This is my son's progress- (under18) for AOS.

Missouri Office:

2/15/2014: Sent AOS

3/10/2014: Rec Notification for Biometrics-Attempted walk in (Houston-declined)

3/24/2014: Biometric appointment

5//7/2014: received EAD

5/9/2014: Received appointment letter(appointment 6/9/2014)

Does anyone know if they auto send SS card? Why I did my AOS in 2008 I received a SS. I'm not sure if I have to apply or if they going to just send it.

It's actually green...who knew ;)

This is easily the most expensive piece of plastic I have ever owned.

Amber, I know you blacked out most of the information on your GC, but I would implore you to take it off because it is still quite visible to the naked eye.

Congrats
