hi red_tree,

how long after 'post decision activity' status on the USCIS case status, can you see the statement regarding the shipping to NVC?

I just got my case case status change from 'initial review' to 'post decision activity'.

because this is what it says now :

Post Decision Activity

On August 25, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Did you get another update after something like this or did the 'shipping...' status is your first /last status . thanks in advance!

Hi @domo22, congratulations that you got approval finally!! :dancing:

About your question, the former is correct.

I first saw the same status as you quoted on 8/9 and there was another update to notify their shipping my case to NVC on 8/15.

So you got another email? I haven't received anything except for the original approval email which said they approved the petition. So I am guessing mine probably wasn't shipped out any faster than yours. Interesting...

I believe their system is not upto the mark. I did not receive any email either. I received the approval one, but not the shipping out one.

Hey there faith,

My wife was deported as well on her 18th birthday pretty much. She was sentenced a 5 year ban(I have never heard of a 3 year ban - there is 5,10, or 20). We are slowly getting out of the 6th month club and making our way to the 7th month. I am pretty sure as well, it is why it took us a bit longer because of her past mistakes as a minor.

Anyways, USCIS has told me her security/background checks she has passed and now they're going through the box we sent, this is the last update I received which is when I called USCIS last Monday. They did say I should be getting a NOA(RFE/NOA2/APPROVE/DENY) within the next 2 weeks since my case was at the CSC(California Service Center).

There is two things you can do -

1) Call USCIS and speak to a tier 2 operator. These guys know when your case has been accessed last, and can tell you a lot less vague answer on what is going on.

2) Make an INFOPASS appointment. These guys have the same information a tier 2 operator goes, but, from my Senator friend - an INFOPASS appointment during the I130 process is logged on their case files, and helps support that your marriage is indeed bonafide since you physically went to ask about your spouse. It looks very good to the US government.

Other than that, sit back, open up some whiskey(my preference) - find a hobby - maybe even work harder/overtime and save up money to see your SO. As I have told my wife/family, I live on the bible belt where there is a ton of hate for immigrants. I damn well know why people decide to come to this country illegally rather than legally. My wife and I are on month 7 in a few weeks, and at the same time the NVC process is taking around 4-5 months. 1 year of being apart from your family is expected for us who have not yet gotten our NOA2s.

chrisaivey,

Thanks for the thorough answer!

I will be calling tier 2 tomorrow and will be reporting what they tell me. I will also call to schedule an info pass appointment in hopes of speeding the process up.

You are right on about coming in illegally actually being easier. Ironically, in college i debated and was super adamant about illegals coming to America the legal way, but life has a way of making you see things through the petitioners/immigrants eyes. Being separated like this for months and years on end is unbelievable.

I pray you all get your approvals soon!

Ok yea I think something may be going on with their system then. Should not be any issues hopefully. I do wish the NVC had a better alert system set up at the moment I am using this page to check on things https://ceac.state.gov/iv/login.aspx%C2'>

Hope everyone is doing good and staying patient, months are hopefully turning into weeks and eventually days

Well for me at the CSC. I finally got my RFE notice from their website, and they said it was mailed out yesterday. So hopefully within the next 48 hours I will get it in the mail and know what it is. It is for "additional information" - no idea what it could be or wanting. I went over the checklists time and time again.

I sent 200 pictures of us together, hotel receipts, plane tickets, passport showing I been down there 7+ times one letter from a family member telling them our marriage is legit, a 200page book of our chat logs for a few years together. A senate letter as well supporting our marriage.

Only thing I could think of left is the joint bank accounts showing ownership. But I did everything from the pictures to I don't know what else. Oh well, will know soon!

Hey guys,

I have the following updates:

1) 11:27am received a response from the service request regarding my 1-130 and pretty much said that they had a large volume of cases being processed. That my case is currently under review by an officer and we will receive a decision from an officer regarding their action as soon as it is completed.

2) 1:37pm received the following response from a service request regarding my 129-f, and most applicants will receive a decision or correspondence within 30 days, although some get it earlier. Please contact us if you did not receive anything in 30 days.

3) 2:00pm On Augist 27, 2014, your addressed was changed relating to your i130........

Has anyone received these emails and if so what happened after?

Thanks and God Bless!

Our petition got a wrong update like that too. Just sharing ....

After putting a service request around Aug 8 and we were told to wait till Aug 23 for an update/decision,

On Aug 22, USCIS website case status was in 'initial review' saying that 'On August 22, your address was updated....' even though we received an email the same day, saying our case was approved.

Pretty conflicting, right?

So we called USCIS on Monday (Aug 25) asking about the discrepancy. And a few hours later, the USCIS website was corrected to say 'On August 25, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN....' and the next day, we received an official email saying it's approved.

Back in July, we did change our address and that has already been taken care of and USCIS confirmed via email.

So..........this is what I THINK happened:

The case was actually approved on 22 Aug and 1st email sent was correct ( it was just a bit awkward saying 'it was approved and sent to production'). But the USCIS online status was not updated properly at that time, quoting the old reason of address change. I think that was a clerical error like they forgot to change the body of the status but only updated the date, reflecting the previous/old reason (address change)

So it seems like they do things in a hurry and mix-ups happen where only the date was updated but not the main reason/decision.

hope you'll get your approval real soon!

I just hope this all leads to an approval sooner rather than later. It's a bit confusing when you get 2 emails saying to wait and the third that doesn't even make sense which is usually followed by an approval. It is what it is.
