I am already gathering information and documents for NVC even though it could be several months before I am approved. I have already been waiting well over a month for a long form birth certificate and my military records. And now I have to carefully time applying to the German government for a certificate of conduct, as I lived in Germany for three years. Who knows how long that will take or how long it is good for.

Anyway, it is always good to be proactive in this process and working on getting all this stuff together makes me feel like something is accomplished, like we are moving forward.

That's a really good idea, especially since electronic processing lets you send in the documents the second your fees are invoiced. By the way, do you happen to know what exactly is required to be on the birth certificate?

Out of curiosity, where in Germany did you live?

I am the beneficiary.

Hey guys,

We email the lockbox regarding our l-30 packet. And its been 5 days we got no reply from them. So we decided to call the USCIS and the agent on the phone said they dont have our papers in their system. How could this be if it was delivered and signed? :-(

We cant send two copies, right? It might lead to serious problem to our petition.

Any postive inputs for us is appreciated.

Thank you.

Just relax and wait a couple of weeks.....it takes some time for them to put your case into the system after it arrives there..... Sometimes you will see that your check is cashed even before you get a NOA1 email. Definitely don´t send another copy....I am sure that within a short period of time you will receive your case number and start checking the USCIS site every 5 minutes like the rest of us (also it can take a few weeks for your case number to be active on the USCIS website even once you receive your NOA1)!

good luck.....and patience :)

oh man so it has been almost a month! i think that after 45 days you can have them look into it for sure. it looks like you are filing from the philippines so you will probably get an automatic expedite once they start the process which is lucky! or are you already in the usa?

I believe the long form birth certificate has both parents, place of birth, length, weight, reg. number, and a host of other info NVC will require. I never had one issued (I only have the little one my mother gave me long ago).

I lived in a small village outside the Canadian Forces Base Baden-Sollingen called Hugelsheim. Lived there from 1983 to 86.

Indeed... We emailed the lockbox twice and no reply til now. We called again the uscis last monday (3/17/2014) this time the benificiary's name popped up in their system instead of the petitioner'name..mmmmm hopefully we will get out first notice in the next few days.
