They put up an Olympic venue in what used to be a backward little village with little infrastructure. That can't be cheap. But it being Russia, I'd guess that some folks close to Putin got very rich in the process.

Winter olympics are the better of the two, IMO. I just can't get into track & field like I do hockey, bobsledding or ski jumping..

But I really watch for the mens figure skating.

I like the Winter Olympics better, just because of the hockey.. but honestly, I'll watch ANY sport on the Olympics. I eat that sh*t up every time.

My husband's always happy when they're over (though he's into the hockey too, he just cheers for the wrong team) because then we start watching regular television again.
