Can I do tax amendment once my wife and Daughter get to US and have their Social security Number?

Thank you for reading. my question is, if I file tax and could not include my foreign wife and daughter with no SSN , Can I do tax amendment once my wife and Daughter get to US and have their Social security Number?

Yes absolutely!

Turbo tax can be your friend. You can amend going back 4yrs (drpends on what yr you were married). I did it with no problems.

Just make sure you're filing as married, not single.

I read somewhere in this forum that child needs 6months residency Or something! Did anyone had any problem with this, since I know alot of people have amended tax return once their wife and children got Social security numbe're after arriving in Us! Thank you.

Ok thanks for the info, But in 2012 I filed as Single , since the tax prep guy told me to do so since my wife and kid had no SSN, Can I amend that file of 2012 ?
