Bit of a unique situation so hoping someone has an insight.

I am a Canadian citizen and am down visiting my USC mother and USC girlfrien on a B2 visa. I had zero intention to stay but she actually popped the question to me and told me she was tired of doing a long distance relationship and wanted me to stay.

I am aware under this circumstance we can get married and file for AOS because I had no intent to stay, my question is more on the employment side of things:

I currently work for an American company remotely FROM Canada and have done so for the past almost 3 years now. This is obviously not illegal work as I was not in the US during my employement and the funds were deposited into a Candian bank account. Will I have to quite this job when I apply for the AOS or should I just keep working simce illegal work is forgiven since I will be filing as a spouse? Would it even be considered illegal employment since I had the job for this length of time from outside of the US regardless of where the company was located? I really like this job, but I obviously love my soon to be wife a whole lot more.

I assume the income is being deposited into your Canadian account and it's a 1099 kind of job. I also assume you are paying Canadian taxes on it. If so then I'd continue working remotely since it's Canadian income.
