I woke up to the sound of the heater working. It's set to automatically go from it's night temp of 62 all the way up to 70, starting at 7 a.m. Then at 9 a.m. it shuts itself back down to 62.

Problem is, when I walked downstairs, and under a heater vent, I felt cold air.

Lo and behold, when I looked at the thermostat I found it was a not so toasty 59 degrees. At 7:15.

:crying:

I called the place that installed the furnace cos I know my landlord has a service contract, but the witch on the phone was really rude and insisted that I had to call the landlord and have her call for permission to send a service technician out, even though I never had to do that before.

Oy!!!

So I got to call my landlord at 7:30.

And I'm now freezing. And waiting.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

Maybe everyone is sleeping in in a toasty warm house :P:lol:

The furnace repair people will not be able to make it out until sometime between 2 this afternoon and 7 this evening.

It's now 58 degrees in my house. :(

New years eve here will be spent at home. Some nice sparkling sprite and some snacks will do just fine. :)

I'm glad you're ok, Catherine! (F)

Hope the Moet helps! ;)

Thanks!

Having a 2007 Nissan maxima as a rental helps a lot too . . . but I'm afraid to drive it  . . . not really, lol, just don't want to stress the right side too much.

One thing nice about inadvertently involving an Oklahome State Trooper in the accident as the THIRD vehicle??? the accident response time was almost instantaneous! But he was also the reason I sustained so much damage on the front end . . . I hit him after being hit by the other driver (move to the left lane where I happened to be driving).

High Speed Bumper Cars on the Interstate, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! :help:

Well, not having had an accident before, i keep saying "that was such a surreal experience!". I stood on the side of the interstate going "wow, look at my car!! I just paid it off!".

LOL, the state trooper asked me "did you scream??" .. . I am wondering why he did that, but I know I didn't . . . I felt very calm and it seemed everything slowed down and I noticed a lot of things, but not everything . . . so strange!!! Parts of it did remind me of a rollercoaster ride . . . like after the last time I got hit . . . the head-on with the State Trooper (or what ever part of his vehicle I hit with the front of my car) . . . then rushing off the road and down into the ditch to finally end up at the bottom with mud on the car and pointing back up at the interstate. All 3 vehicles ended up in the ditch . . . but spaced well apart.

Totally SURREAL!!! . . . except for the ugly large bruise on my right side going down under my arm . . . stupid seat belts!!! But it did its job!

I have been busy trying to unravel a last minute financial crunch thanks to the ticket BS in Egypt with absolutely no luck. My little apartment is clean, sparkling and in order. In a few minutes I'm off to the store for a few items I forgot I needed then home again to start up the pot of soup. Mohammed's plane is due into JFK if all goes as planned at 3:20 pm. That's about an hour and a half from now.

I won't lie. I am so stressed out I feel sick. I'm scared to death of POE even though I know I have no reason to be. I've been trying to keep break-neck busy but its not helping. I'm just scared. I won't be ok until I hear his voice again. And I have no way of knowing when that will be.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday. I need to get to the store...
