Hi again People of Vj

I dont know what i would do without your advice and words guys ! .. I am getting very stressed with all these paperwork that needs to be done , and i only have 1 MONTH before my I-94 expires !! ..Today i went to collect my Driver Licence and yeah they didnt want to use my married name . Thats ridiculous . THey said if i had a paper where it shows that i am applying for Residence as a proof that I will stay here ! So they issue me the licence just for one month ! .. I cant wait for my husband to drive me.. THere are so many things to have done and waiting at home would depress me even more . So now at least i have ONE MONTH to be going around legally.

Again i do not know what i would be doing without your help guys ,, Especially the ones who have gone through THE AOS PROCESS ..

Here i have some questions that i would appreciate FONDLY if you can write me your feed backs .. I

For instance there is the I-693 FORM required The Medical Exam. I was really pissed off the first time i went to the doctor for the K1 ...He charged me almost 400$ for NOTHING

he didnt even have a scale in his office ... He just wanted the money and spent probably 10 minutes no more than that ! .. I dont want even think about that day again. It just makes me angry how those those people can even called "doctors" ..Anyway, that happen the 18 of November .. So here the question goes

DO I HAVE TO GO TO A SURGEON this Time ??? ! And if it is so what part of the form he has to fill out ?? DO you know how much those people charge ??

I have a copy of the vaccination form that the other "doctor" filled out ... Would that be enough ?? I also have a CD from the last time ...

And as far as the Electronic I-94 copy ... In the VJ site mentions a "front and back " ,,, I have printed out that form but it surely does NOT have a Back part at all...

Or am i mistaken ?

And last question before i go : How did you guys do with your driver licence .. Is it the same story in all the states ??? What should i do to extend the expiration of it .

They were NOT helpful at all .. In fact the guy i talked to yesterday was so nice .. But since i was running late i had to come back today and other dudes got into my papers

and they didnt even want to grant me the DL .. But i was getting a little furious and i said that i am bringing all what the sheet of requirements is asking for !

What do you make it so difficult? Anyway.. Fortunately i believe i am not the only one that has to go through all these non sense .

Thank You ALL in advance !!

The driver's license will always expire when your I-94 expires until you have established permanent residency. People typically wait until they have the EAD card which indicates permanent residency processing or until you have green card in hand. Then your license should be issued for the standard time.

You do not need a new medical if yours was marked as complete (check the form they gave you) and done within the last year. If you did not get all required vaccinations or it has been over a year, you need to check the USCIS Civil Surgeon list and get another I-693 transcribed once you have everything done. Call around since prices vary greatly.

Since you already got your license, you'll have to wait until you have EAD or Green Card and then go back to the DMV and renew your license. And your driver's license has to match other official documentation, so if your maiden name is on everything else (which is would be), you'll have to wait until you can update your social security card and have the EAD or green card in your married last name to take back to the DMV.

Your first question was answered countless times before on vj. And it's clearly stated in the instructions of the form too. If you came on a k1 and your oversea medical isn't older than 1 year than all you gotta submit is a vaccination form, which you stated you have. Copy that and send it along with your AOS.

The vj site isn't updated. It refers to a time when the I-94 was an actual paper in your passport. Your ok with the printed out one. No back needed.

The driver license issue is different from state to state. I got a permit in NYC that doesn't expire till my passport does. Which is in 2018. So I think it depends on the state and if the person behind the desk has a good day. If your license comes close to expiration and you have filed for AOS, I suggest to take your noa1 to the dmv and ask to extend your license. That should work since you're in pending 'legal status' once AOS is filed.

Good luck
