No Appointment Available

So we decided to go ahead and schedule an interview with the US Embassy in Casablanca. As of now there, the websites says, the first available appointment is X day but then when trying to schedule an appointment, the website says none available. I want to call the Embassy myself and ask them does this mean their won't be any appointments indefinitely until the embassy decides they're ready to take appointments or does this mean that they only have appointments for categories not pertaining to ours. So on average, how long has any of you guys from Casablanca or else where had to wait to schedule an appointment? Mind you, between the two of us, we are checking the website roughly every 1 - 2 hours in case someone cancels. My patience with the US government just slowly erodes away with each passing obstacle we encounter. . . .

As foolish as it is, we're going to try to go for the B2 visa so that Imad can meet my family briefly before we marry. My parents are reluctant to accompany me to Morocco to meet him, yet my dad has made it clear he does not want me marrying someone he hasn't met even though they know we have been seeing each other for a few years. So we decided to give it a shot on the B2 in hopes that Imad can prove his intent to return to Morocco.
