I honestly have no idea why threads get closed in this forum. Sometimes they are randomly closed for being off topic; other times there are really good discussions (usually about race) that get closed without me noticing anything really offensive. I just can't make sense of it.

A few years back, there was a game thread here where someone posted a word and you posted the first word that came to mind. Someone posted circle, so naturally I replied with jerk. Now because of who posted circle, moderation came down on me for posting jerk, they considered it an insult to said poster. So I did my best via pm to explain to a female moderator what a circle jerk was. I must not have done a good enough job, so I suggested she asked her husband to explain the humor to her. True story.
