So you think he just made that up about the local market with over a thousand employees?

Oh I thought we were talking about something else. I got this confused with the other thread you were "eb0dfafc.gif "

I wondered how many people work in a typical Walmart super store so I very briefly looked around the internets. I didn't see anything concrete but I think they were closer to 450 or so.

Actually it looks more like 300.

That's right. Your typical Super Wal Mart employes roughly 300 people. So that family grocery store in lost's hood is the size of about three Super Wal Marts. That's some family grocery business.

Don't forget the Chinese cook he knows who makes over $50k a year.

Looks like the average cook makes around $21,000 a year.

Well but maybe lost knows some super cook. He seems to know some super family grocery business.

I don't know any neighborhood that employs that many folks. The base commissary is pretty big, but I wager around 100-150 workers, max. At 1000, you're talking about a town worth of people in one store.

Trader Joe's can't employ more than 50 or so I would imagine. But I've only been in one, not sure how big the others are by comparison. Constantly people out stocking though and lots of check out peeps.

There are about 410 in the nation with roughly 20,000 = or about 49 per store. Probably closer to 45 if you consider corporate /administrative are elsewhere.
