Apply for tourist visa while I-130 is in progress

Hi,

I spoke to a USCIS rep. and she said i can apply for my wifes tourist visa even when I-130 is in progress ?? is it possible ? if Yes , has someone done this ?

You cannot apply for a visitor visa for your wife. The intending tourist is the person that must apply.

Yes, it's possible to get a visitor visa with a pending I-130. There are plenty of threads on this forum about this.

Thanks Aaron .So if i understand from your point there is a possibility of she applying and getting a tourist visa , and that would not effect her I-130 application status ??

As long as she is truthful on her visitor visa application, a denial or approval has no bearing on the I-130.

Lying on the visitor visa application would negatively affect the I-130.
