Hello All,

We have a fairly high case number for Europe, CN 45XXX.

I read somewhere else that our chance to get an interview are next to zero, but I also read that everyone selected will have a chance to be called to the interview, once the status becomes "CURRENT".

1. What is your opinion on that, do you know someone, with such a high CN number or even higher who was called to the interview?

2. Once the status becomes "CURRENT" (as in the last 5 years), how is KCS giving out the interview date, place and time, is it random?

3. Do you know anyone who was in the "CURRENT" situation and the maximum quota of 50,000 visas has been reached right before the interview? would the interview be canceled?

Thank you in advance for your answers

I'm not sure of the answers to 1 and 2, but the answer to 3 is yes it would be canceled. This happened to Iranians last year as they reached the country limit quota in late September - the notice from the embassy made that clear. Apparently the same thing had happened to some Bangladeshis a few years earlier when they were still in the lottery. Once the quota is filled, no more visas can be issued, even if you have been allocated an interview, even if you have already interviewed and been on AP and it is completed but you are in the gap between completion of AP and visa issuance...

Thank you for your response. Although not encouraging news, it is what it is - we'll keep hoping it won't happen to us.

Is there a site we can find out how many visas are allocated to each country?

Thanks again

Not in "real time" - they only release that data after FY end - there is somewhere you can get visas issued by embassy but it's not complete and embassies will issue to people who are resident in the area they serve, who may be chargeable to another country. Your best bet to watch progress is just to watch the visa bulletin and how the cut-off numbers progress, as that is effectively nearly two months ahead whereas the incomplete data above is for previous months anyway.

Edit: not sure if I misunderstood the question, if you meant the per country limit, that is only an issue for a few countries. There is a site (I'll look for it and post the link later) where they tell you how many selectees per country, but a lot of those people drop out or are refused along the way - different countries can have vastly different dropout/refusal rates though.
