The republicans probably should avoid tea party, 1%ers, or the super religious types. If they do that, they might be ok next time around.

At least from what I've seen - there are more extremist groups on that side of the fence than on the other.

If the economy is in a recession and unemployment is high, the focus of a political candidate should be on how you're going to fix that. If you're a Republican candidate you're constantly being side-tracked by social issues to appeal to the religious conservatives, small government/isolationist foreign policy stuff for the tea-partiers and tax cuts and corporate interest stuff for the uber rich.

It's too broad a spectrum for a single political party to have a coherent position.

Which of these predictions have materialized in the socialist VA system?

Odd that you would want to make that comparison.

IF the two were similar, people would be forced to take part in the VA,

people would be loosing their jobs because of their VA healthcare.

The VA would Break promises rather than keep them.

The VA would charge some people more... so that others could pay less.

And Obama-care is just getting started... hardly out of the crib.

Danno, try to pay attention. The comparison is between the VA and the NHS. The VA - unlike Obamacare - is a socialist health care delivery system that is owned and run by the government and fully operated by government staff - doctors, nurses and all. It is just like the NHS - collectivism (as you would call it) at its finest. And yet, the collectivism known as the VA nor the NHS which is in existence since WWII or thereabout have produced any of the outcomes you talk about. Face it, it's pure paranoia. Those who suffer from it should seek professional help. I believe Obamacare covers it.

Funny you mention that formula....

Why don't we put it to the test and see how successful it has been so far in the recent history

Winners and losers, you tell me if they are more moderate and there for winners or Traditional Conservatives and therefore Losers'.

Hint- only one person breaks this trend for a short four years due to riding Reagans coat tails.

Winners

Reagan 2 times

Bush1

Bush2 2 times.

Losers

Bush1 on second try after raising taxes.

Dole (Mr. moderate)

McCain (mr. reach across the Isle.

Romney. ( Made an effort to swerve Right but no one bought it)

This is the reason you my friend.... are not steering campaigns.

It's a tempting proposition to try to run the "more centrist" guy.... it just has a dismal record.

As well as transgender surgery.

What I am wondering is,.... will they cover a reverse transgender operation?

And if so what if the troubled soul should change his/her mind yet again.

By what principle are these things Authorized?

It bears repeating:

to play devils advocate devil.gif

most veterans i have known always said the VA sucks....but that's just a small sampling. I know the VA has been constantly improving, and I'm not against it at all fully support caring for our servicemen and women. All in favor of funding it even more to improve it.

I have VA. So far it appears great for Health Maint, check ups, free drugs. I am afraid if i developed an acute condition I may die.

I had to use the VA once when I was unemployed. I felt like a number with no name. The place was packed and there were some strange people there to say it in a nice way. I waited about 4 hours to see a doctor for literally 60 seconds and he acted almost annoyed that I was there like I was wasting his time. I guess the good thing I can say about it was that it didn't cost me anything and they gave me a free tube of cortisone cream that I could have bought at Walgreens. My father uses the VA exclusively and he is always complaining about pretty much the same things I just mentioned.
