The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office now estimates that Obamacare will do damage equivalent to knocking nearly all of Nevada out of a job. An entire state’s worth of employment will be lost to this destructive law. Reuters reports:

President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law will contribute to this phenomenon, CBO said, citing new estimates that the Affordable Care Act will cause a larger than-expected reduction in working hours – eliminating the equivalent of about 2.3 million workers in 2021 versus a previous estimate of an 800,000 decline.

Not usre why you would insult anyone who is not aware of the acronym your counties heathcare goes by....be a little more charitable will'ya?

How will they control, well for starters.....

Think about all the things you eat that they think or know, cause an ill health effect.

Why shouldn't they ban smoking outright (not pot of course) or donuts or sugary drinks, alcohol, even salted nuts.

Why would they not (eventually) read the scanning on your food purchases and tax you accordingly, is it right that you eat beef more than they suggest and yet you pay no price for the added health risk? (the rational of a collectivism)

One of the activities they won't be concerned with is risky sex habits, Gay men have an explosion of added health risks and costs that most normal males do not have... but rest assured sodomy as opposed to high risk sports will not incur additional taxation, though the pleasure of a fine cigar will.

Decades ago Hillary tried to tie the taxing of ammunition to the cost of healthcare. Think about that on principle and ask yourself

1. how revolutionary that was.

2.And where one could take that exact logic.... and then imagine the funds to be raised from it as every thing from faster cars to downhill skies come with a premium tax.

WHo would go along with such a scheme? YOu and I when our monthly insurance premium goes high enough.

I believe the truth is somewhere in between... The report does not qualify nor does it breakdown where the cuts will be made. It is the equivalent of saying people will work less so they pay less income tax... It may make sense to some, but not to everyone.

Yes Danno - the UK Government runs the health system through the Department of Health. Everyone who works and pays taxes is entitled to care. The rich, or people with good employers also have access to private insurance at privately run hospitals.

Under the NHS - none of the things you have suggested above have happened. The worst that happens here is "too fat for your operation" or "quit smoking/lower your blood pressure". Why exactly is it that you think that a health system that is still run by the private sector will bring in what you have described above?

That is so over the top as to be utterly meaningless.

The US is not a communist state. The Affordable Care Act will not turn it into one.

Maybe you should try drinking less coffee or something.
