Canadian consulates

I have a quick question. The Calgary consulate Website lists the issuance of visas as one of its services, but judging from all I've read on this forum the only two consulates in Canada that do K-1 visas is Vancouver and Montreal. Do Regina residents have to travel that far for the interview? Thanks!

As far as I know, the only consulates who do K-1s are Vancouver and Montreal. I believe that, living in Regina, you would be routed to the Vancouver consulate.

Calgary only issues visitors and business type visas, the only ones that handle family immigration visas are Vancouver, and Montreal. Hope the one handles your case is Vancouver, they are the quicker of the two.

You are lucky, in China the consulate in Guangzhou, in the south is the only one handling immigration cases for that large 1 billion + person country.

Yup, only Montreal and Vancouver issue K1 visas and Regina residents are lucky enough to go to Vancouver. They are an awesome consulate to deal with and are very speedy.

As said, only Montreal and Vancouver issue K-type (K-1/2 or K-3/4) visas.

Consular Immigrant Visa (Green Card) is only issued at Montreal--admittedly, out of the glister of this forum.

It is a shame Calgary doesn't do the Fiancee or Spousal Visas. I am in Edmonton and that would be so great, it is a 3 hour drive and I have an Aunt in Calgary who I could have stayed with. sigh.

Also, Calgary (which has both in numbers and percentage the highest US-origin population of any Canadian city) would have been in general much more logical to locate ALL (including Immigrant and fiance(e)/spousal) than Montreal (located in a province which has so often raised a threat of separation).

Still haven't figured out whose twisted idea it was to locate these in Montreal instead.

and those of us from/originally from Atlantic Canada are glad that we didn't have to travel any further west!
