Wait for the letter.

There is nothing you can do until you are know why the petition was denied.

But you can be closely examining the complete copy of the petition that you made prior to sending in the official version and determine on your own the cause of the denial.

Missing documentation maybe, not free to marry when filed, didn't meet in person within past two years, very bad criminal background, underage, not a USC,......just some thoughts that come to mind.

You'll need to vet out the reason for the denial prior to any refiling.

We have been waiting since August 7th for a decision on our K1 Visa petition. After my processing time had passed I had made a Service Request, in January. Get married and apply for the spousal visa. They are much less subject to the whim of a given embassy.

I am so sorry friend for you, it should be some reason that made them denie your petition . My both petitions for K3 visa were approved yesterday Thank God after a waiting of about 7 months! Thank God. I hope everything will go well for you, God willing.

I remember when I originally requested an expedite for my K1 (a service request), I was sent an email and a mailed notice that it was denied, and it scared me, but it wasn't a denial of my petition, but rather the service request.

I may have misunderstood ... but are you sure that your petition was denied, and not your service request?

I remember when I originally requested an expedite for my K1 (a service request), I was sent an email and a mailed notice that it was denied, and it scared me, but it wasn't a denial of my petition, but rather the service request.

Aren't an expedite request and service request two different things? I thought a service request was just a request into why a petition hadn't been adjudicated yet, not to ask for an expedite.

As far as I'm aware, an expedite is a type of service request. I may be wrong, but from what I remember, both terms were included on my denial notice.

I sooo hope you are right. My Initial Review status changed to Discussion Denied, but I just recieved an email that My service request was just answered today and that I should follow the instructions in the letter I will fet within 45 days. I also called uscis today and spoke to Tier 2 officer, he said their computer says that my case is still pending, it doesn't show denial. I don't understand anything anymore???? That means I still have HOPE!!!! Thank you all for your great and wonderful support!!!

Yeah, just like everyone else said, I would just wait until you get some sort of hard copy response and then take it from there. It took nearly 3 weeks to get my NOA1 for my I129-F when I applied, but you better believe it only took 2 DAYS to get the denial notice for the request in the mail. I hope things work out for ya.

Sorry to hear of your denial its a very frustrating thing to read, my fiancé and I received one in December ours was due to two letters from his family members that had to be redone and sent back unfortunately the letters did not arrive within the time frame they had requested and they denied us on lack of material evidence of our relationship. With Harpas advice and another VJ members we are refilling we have learnt a lot from this experience and this time round feel a lot more confident with our submission, good luck

How long ago did that happened to you? and did your Initial Review status change to Decision, Denial as well or no? Mine changed.
