Domestic Flights Post Facial K-1 Expiration

Ok, so here is the question: Assume your fiancee is here legally on a K-1, timely marries and filed AOS (thus letting her stay here legally while awaiting green card), but the K-1 visa facial expiration date of 90 days expires. Now your fiancee wants to fly domestically. Will the airlines create an issue because the visa in her passport is "expired," even though because she has filed AOS she is still legal? Just trying to avoid any upcoming flight issue. Thanks!

Don't worry. Airlines do not care about visas and neither does the TSA. So long as she stays within the 50 states she'll be fine. It is a non-issue.

I second this. Total non-issue. They just check your passport photo page and that's it.

The K-1 is a single use visa and is only used to enter the US. Traveling domestically has nothing to do with entering the US.

The airlines do not check immigration status when flying domestically.

Keep a copy of the NOA1 when she travels.

The only issue that could occur if you have a path close to US borders are diverted and forced to deplane for an extended period. You would lack a visa to return. That would be a terrible series of bad events so highly unlikely.

What are the chances of a US domestic flight being diverted to Canada or Mexico?

Can you provide any evidence that an emergency landing in Canada or Mexico would cause a person to have a visa problem?

Or are you making this up because it's what you think might happen?
