It was the last straw, my American g/f took way too much advantage of me and I was finished - finished with her at least ...

She would have been my third wife had we married as was planned but thank God something prevented that. As it happens, I turned to the Internet but didn't really believe finding the woman of my dreams was possible. That didn't preclude me from looking, hum. Well, there was this one really cute Chinese chick who caught my attention but what she wrote about herself was amazing. She seemed to be very open and honest and gave definate clues that she had already answered, to herself at least, the "who" question - you know, she seemed to know who she was. Geepers, did I get an email off right away or what? After about two or three weeks of emails I get a phone call. The caller was definately Chinese and had a wild, crazy sense of humor. She had a little trouble getting me to understand that she was the girlfriend of the girl I was communicating with in Nanning, China, but once she did it turned into a lot of insane, crazy fun. This girl was married for nearly three years to an American and they lived in Oregon. It was her who helped my SO get her profile on the Internet and her who first translated our emails. Geepers, I thought, now how cool is this? Eventually, I got to talk with her American husband and sure enough he had previoulsy met this young Chinese lady I was emailing. Can't tell you what he said but it was all good, smile. Then it was not long before I myself was making phone calls to China. Not long either before I was flying to Nanning to meet this wonderful, sweet person, and not too much longer after that before a second trip. But after the first trip I knew, you know, some things you just know but I knew she was going to make a super wife. Now for a little clue as to why I knew. She loved her daddy, her mother and even her younger brother. Gollee, how is this possible? A girl who loves all those is bound to have enough love in her heart to give me a little ... yee haw, yee haw, this was a contradiction to all the man-hating American girls. So, first thing after getting back to the US was start the paperwork. She passed her interview in Guangzhou, China this past September and in a few short weeks I'll escort her to the US and start our new life. It's not all that unique of a story but I wanted to post it to say hello and nice to meet all you on this site. And, oh, BTW, it turned out that she and the person she said she was are one and the same - I'm such a lucky man.

So, howdy and nice to finally meet you all.

IT seems like they are written maybe as a Chinese person would speak English, so I was wondering if you were faking it or if she wrote them.

Welcome - how lovely that instead of 'Three Strikes You're Out', you hit a home run:-). (My husband did too!). Congratulations and may the two of you enjoy every happiness together.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
