I'm not going to debate the idea of minimum wage, whether its good or bad, but I cannot comprehend why it must be lifted manually via votes. When it was established, it should have been set to a core inflation benchmark such as the CPI.

I don't think his employer is doing it for racism as you suggest, but all the same, how does he currently pay for his health insurance on his $300 @ week? it is a rhetoric question, to be sure.

If people can't get medical coverage under their employer, they have to get it somewhere. Your taxes were involved before the change and they are going to be after the change. Only way out is to force employers to pick up some of the slack.
