Are Transit Visas Needed for Egyptians If They Are Passing Through European Countries on Their Way to the USA

We are starting to look at our flight options, and I'm trying to find if my Egyptian fiancé will need a transit visa if he doesn't leave the airports but travels through other countries...probably in Germany and the United Kingdom.

After posting, I am finding with the US visa in his passport, he should be fine as long as he doesn't stay over 24 hours and doesn't leave through passport control.

You don't need one if you stay airside.

The US visa in his passport will be irrelevant, but yes as long as he stays in the airport he can go to any country and be fine! Congratulations!!!! Happy reunion!

Thanks for the congrats Heather & Ramy. I mentioned the US visa because, according to the UK Border Agency site, people from Egypt require a DATV unless they have a valid visa that goes to the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, or a few other places. At least, that is how I interpreted it. The good news is whether or not that is accurate, we have (or will have) the ability to take a flight through London. My only problem is technically that might mean my fiance will go to London before I do .
