You got the Stokes interview meaning your relationship didn't seem legitimate to the officer or you failed to provide enough documentation proving your bona fide marriage.

Heres a website that helped me prepare for my interview with my wife.

http://www.***removed***/greencard/bona-fide-marriage-documentation.html

Keep in mind these guys are well trained, my interview consisted of only 3 questions because I provided ample amounts of documentation things they can put their hands on. They have to justify to their selves why they granted the visa so the more proof the better.

You must have failed to convince the immigration officer that your marriage was bonafide, likely your spouse, yourself or both of you failed to satisfactorily answer their independent questioning or your answers somehow indicated your marriage wasn't bonafide, you may want to consult an immigration attorney at this stage.

Financial co-mingling of assets is key. Get both of your names on medical insurances (with statements showing the insurance paid for your spouses claim), life insurance policy beneficiary, apartment lease/mortgage, bank accounts, beneficiary to investments, credit cards in both names etc. Ours was easy after we showed the IO those documents proving that. We didn't even need to show them all of the documentation as the bank accounts and insurances were plenty he said. Also any trips you've taken together receipts, photos, etc. Though, pictures aren't nearly as good as financial proof. Think of it like this: If you're willing to risk your bank accounts/investments/mortgage or lease/etc with your spouse, then in the eyes of the USCIS your relationship is probably bonafide.

Yes, you might want to contact a lawyer at this stage, I agree with the above poster.

I wouldn't think the co-mingling of assets would be key for the AOS interview as that would be easy for anyone to setup and when you are just married there wouldn't be much expectation for that so my suspicion is that your relationship just wasn't convincing enough to the immigration officer, did you discuss the questions asked with your spouse? Did you both give correct answers? Does the documentation you have demonstrate a traditional relationship prior to the marriage?

Take a lawyer to this third interview; you are on the verge of a denial (I'm surprised they are giving you a third bite of the cherry).

This situation is my worst nightmare...I have my green card interview on March 4th and despite no red flags and a wonderful relationship with my husband and step children im terrified LOL!!! I have found joint assets so difficult to obtain as a SS# has been required for my husband bank account and credit card, which I am yet to be issued with...However, we do have a joint tenancy lease and the Manager of our apartment complex kindly wrote a letter confirming our bonifide marriage and our living arrangements etc... how as a couple we support our community and attend neighborhood watch meetings. I also managed to have my name added to the light bill and cable bill. I also included a letter from my step-children's school confirming I am listed as their step-mom and as an emergency contact, sometimes you have to think out the box. Obviously as standard all our photos, affidavits from friends, family and neighbors, 2 years of cell phone bills highlighting all our calls when we were apart (I felt sorry for whoever had to look through two years worth LOL), and all other required paperwork and documents were also included.

I agree that an Immigration Attorney should now be the next plan of action. I have an immigration attorney from day one just to take the stress out of all paperwork and to ensure no mistakes were made and no documents were missing and I had a full picture of the process and what to expect. He is also attending my green card interview. It truly takes the stress and worry off my shoulders for the most part. But I still worry.

You must go over and over everything that took place in your previous 2 interviews to see where the missing link is for them to call you for a third one. An immigration attorney will be able to help you.

This situation is my worst nightmare..

It sounds like you have nothing to worry about and will breeze through the interview, I wouldn't worry about the joint assets until ROC (90 days before the expiration of the 2 year GC) and even then I don't think I would be that concerned if everything else was still in order.

Thank you so much... your email has really reassured me dancin5hr.gif I was hoping to get EAD and SS# before my interview date so then I could be added to bank accounts and assets etc... but as of yet, no sign.
