I didn't write it, I'm just sharing it. At least there's a something out there for someone to address the I-130 backlog.

And, if an I-129f is filed with an I-130, it's supposed to be a K-3. Maybe that mythical visa can get some airtime, too with this petiton.

I got my approval already and I haven't forgotten anything, but it's good to know that I'm expected to turn around and say "I got mine, who cares if anyone else gets theirs." Because who cares about other people, amirite?

I expect it to be addressed, because if they add in more people, it's the US Citizens bringing in their family members or fiances who are going to bear the brunt of it. We don't have numerical limits to our visas to meet, as such, if there's going to be a workload shift, they're going to take it from our cases.

They were backlogged originally. Then they moved that backlog on to us. The US Citizens immediate family members and fiances are the ones who are going to take the brunt of it as they're the ones without numerical limits on visas.

Well, if you consider it, without substantially increasing their workforce, these proposals MUST impact the US Citizen's immediate relatives and fiances. The other visa classes have numerical limits that they are trying to use up, and time frames that they really need to complete them within. Ours are open-ended. If this stuff goes through without a provision protecting us, we're going to wind up dead last, and all of the future petitioners are going to wait a long, long time.

I'm saying that there is nothing within the current proposals that will keep them from impacting the US Citizen's immediate family members and fiances negatively. There are plenty of changes to help improve the processing within other immigrant types, which is awesome. Unfortunately, if they try to do it with the current workforce, it's going to suck. They need to use up the visas with numerical limits (or come close to it.) They need to process certain files within an actual timeframe because of those numerical limits. US Citizens immediate relative petitions don't have those kind of pressures for them, and as such are the obvious targets for being shoved to the back of the line in terms of processing resources available within the USCIS. I believe that's why they impacted first the K1's and then the IR/CR applications when DACA started. While you would think that it would make sense to take some resources from each kind of immigrant petition to minimize the impact to any one type of application, that's obviously not how the USCIS has decided to do things.

Oh Kaylara, I wish you were not right on this but I suspect you are spot on as usual. Potentially a long wait for future K1 and CR1 filers in the future if spending on labour is not increased and these proposals actually happen.

From what I heard the House is shying away from the proposals now, so a passage this year isn't likely I don't think.
