American with UK husband-- help please.

Hi All,

Hope someone can help ease my mind. I’m a US citizen married to British citizen planning to move to the US as soon as we get my husband’s visa sorted. We’ve petitioned, had that approved a few months ago and medical is complete. My understanding is that we should receive a packet with our Interview date once the embassy receives the medical information from the doctor.

When we first got the petition approved with the LND case number, I attempted to complete the DS-260 but was unable to sign in with the case number as I don’t have an invoice number. I was told that it wasn’t necessary as I was doing everything through the embassy. Is this true or have we totally screwed up?

Also, to add insult to injury, since we've petitioned, we've moved to a new flat but our mail is being forwarded to the new place. I don't know how I can change my address at this stage - the email address the embassy sent me an auto message that the mailbox is no longer in use and the phone number seems to just be for non-immigrant visa questions.

Any advice would be well appreciated, my head really hurts and I'm quite nervous that we're just wasting time!

Thanks.

Hi there - we had the same issue in not getting packet 3 in the mail. I sent a formal letter with a copy of our DS-160 and included our case# and both our full names and date of birth and my email contact info. Surprisingly I received a response by email with in 2 weeks. You could write with your questions and updated address.

There is also this email address you can write to: londoninfounit@state.gov

Good luck! :-)

Have you tried entering the invoice number as per the instructions on this page: http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

When completing the DS-260, applicants who filed the petition in the UK should provide their case number (normally beginning with LND) and, in place of the invoice number, their date of birth (in the format YYYYMMDD).
