LOL Ok so here it is...

Leave it to me to be the first one to get a 221g LOL :). They are needing the original of my divorce decree which I do not have so I sent Andre a certified copy. Little did I know, the courthouse does not give a raised seal unless you asked for it. SO...I went today and got a new one with the raised seal and sent it Express to him today...It is guaranteed to get there by Thursday. I am a little sad, but keeping the faith that they will issue the visa as soon as they get this stupid thing! Luckily, we are not on a time crunch really and our goal of him coming here is still attainable. Everything else was fine, but they did not keep his passport. They said to Fed Ex it to them with the new divorce decree.

UGHHHHH :(

oh no....But at least that is the only problem and it can be quickly fixed....... stay positive!!!!! things ll come together soon enough......

Is that Montreal-specific? I didn't have to supply anything about me except for my tax and income stuff. :( I'm sorry for the delay. :( Happily, like the others have said, it's a quick and easy fix. :) Go you, for being on the ball. I agree, this process makes our relationships that much stronger. :)

Congrats everyone on approvals and getting them in the mail!!! So exciting! While we have been waiting for Ben's interview to roll around we have been finally making wedding plans!! Did other people's CEAC status change to Administrative Processing after their approval? I know that they do this sometimes and it just means that your visa is being put into the passport, but this doesn't mean I won't still freak out and go "OMG THEY ARE GOING TO DENY ME POST-INTERVIEW!!!!!"

I honestly don't know. They didn't ask for the originals of any of my other documents so why that one? I found my original last night and even it does not have a raised seal on it. The one I express mailed to him is a certified copy with the state seal so I hope that will suffice. At least they told him to mail his passport with it and then we're approved. I am trying to be positive.

They mailed Andre a copy of the original I-129f after NOA2 and it has my ex-husband's name circled and my maiden name circled so I'm wondering if maybe instead of getting an RFE for sending a copy in the first place, they just let it go til the interview where we would have to supply an original? I wish the checklist of what to bring was more specific of what exactly they want.

Anyway, I could go on and on thinking and venting about it, but it won't change anything so we will just give them what they're asking for.

Good Luck to the Monday interviewers!

So I messed up badly....i just remembered last night after reading reviews that when I was 20 I had gotten into trouble with the police......I completely forgot about this till last night.....i could not remember the details so I went to the police headquarters this morning to see if I was arrested and get details ....... in 96 I got in trouble for shoplifting, the case is now archived and in 2005 my prints were destroyed..... I did put no to arrests in the DS 160.....my questions is will this propose a problem for me on Monday? Should I say I forgot until now? Should I skip the interview and try to reschedule after I get documents from the police proving the case was archived etc.

Any help would be much appreciated

I also lived there for 17 years and a lot of my family is still there! I'm from Oakland County (Clarkston/Waterford to be specific!) Traverse City is great. My family camps at Ludington and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes a few times and year and they're my favorite places on earth! Love Lake Michigan and the coast. Now I'm on the other side of it in Chicago! Ha :)

I can't see them buying the "I forgot" thing, even if you did. Everyone always says honesty is the best policy when it comes to this sort of thing, and I would say go with that advice. But don't offer up more information than they ask for. If your prints have been destroyed and it didn't show up on your police certificate, then I'm assuming you'll be okay and unless they specifically ask if you were arrested/about the crime, don't offer up any details. I'm guessing it didn't show up on the cert. or you would have remembered earlier. But even if it did show up, it was a small crime and that was a long time ago, so I feel like it would be forgiven. What does everyone else think? Good luck!
