Yes, but I think cold feet is normal LOL It just means we are smart and thinking through all possibilities.

I like the moving here for the green card comment LOL...Andre says the same thing haha. He has his medical this week and then the interview is 2 weeks after that..AHH!

On a side note...I said YES to the dress today!!!! It is completely not what I expected to buy, but I love it and it made my sister and best friend cry so I hope it does the same thing to my groom :) It has a train and I didn't expect to have one since we're having a beach wedding but it is gorgeous! I am excited to be marrying that man! YAY!

You have a point we are thinking everything through. Uri keeps telling me I think too much... Which is true

LOL. Yes Uri says it all the time. It is now a huge joke between us. Congrats! You are so close! that is so exciting. We are still waiting! Hoping this week will be the week that we are FINALLY out of Administrative Processing.

Congrats on the wedding dress! When you know you know! It sounds beautiful! Will hopefully be seeing mine in about 2 weeks. (getting it custom made SO cheap here). That dress with a beach wedding sounds AMAZING.

Congrats to everyone here. We are all so close. Soon we will be living our happily ever after!

Congratulations! :) It's funny how the dress picks you, isn't it? Same happened to me. :) And it's one less thing to stress about, so YAY!!

i dont get to wear a dress until 1 year from now :( so jealous. we decided that our "real" wedding will be the white dress one and not the filling out of papers. he didnt want me to miss out on the whole wedding planning/ bridezilla moments that every girl should experience :P

Its horribly unromantic to have a wedding dictated by forms and government stamps...

our wedding anniversary years will be hela confusing but its a very small price to pay for the one yer love

We're also going to do a courthouse thing in order to get AOS rolling ASAP. That'll be the week he gets here, I think. Then we're having an actual wedding on October 11th, in Los Olivos, CA, just north of Santa Barbara. It's proving to be quite the international affair so far, with friends and family flying in from South Africa, Denmark, England, Ireland, and various states in the US. We had discussed waiting until next Spring, but I was nervous that the further away it got from our legal wedding, the less likely it would be to happen. October 11th coincidentally works for his African family and my Danish friends, so it's a go! :D With usually having to order a gown, I thought for sure I'd have one made, but I was able to buy one right off the rack and saved a TON! :D So that stress is alleviated.

cw&zm, congrats on getting your interview date! :D That rocks!

edit: rookie grammar mistakes. I HATE that! lol

Lovely dress ! My mom was a seamstress for years, so she's making mine! She always said she'd never make a wedding dress, and she didn't for my sisters, but I wiggled it out of her/forced it upon her when I bought the pattern! She agreed and also agreed with my sister that, as youngest in the family I am a very spoiled child,

I am luckily passing the wait time with Jake in Edinburgh, though we were separated for a week because I stayed in London after his medical alone to conduct research. I'm back in Scotland and we are taking a romantic weekend to the Isle of Skye this weekend! A pre-wedding honeymoon ;)

I like the idea of separate weddings, and we are doing something similar! Courthouse wedding with just immediate family, and the larger reception a few months later. Hey, I'll get to wear my dress twice--and even though Jake is English born, his Scottish heritage makes him want to wear a kilt :)

Is anyone incorporating their fiance's culture into the wedding plans? I would love to hear about some if the non-American customs that will be employed/practiced!!

Yay, how exicting that some of you already have a dress! :)

We plan on doing a courthouse wedding this Fall to be able to finally be together and then have a big wedding a year later. That way we can plan and see everything together and we feel like it'll be a lot easier to find a date haha! I plan on wearing a shorter white dress (knee length) this year and a long white dress next year :) I keep saving all my wedding ideas on Pinterest, they have some really awesome ones on there!

I had my medical today and I kind of had to fight for a copy of the DS 3025, as they said I would receive that later anyway. I know that we all get the medical results in a sealed envelope but do we get to keep that envelope? I thought they are supposed to keep it at the POE?

It's reassuring too see that some other people are doing the small courthouse and then a bigger wedding afterwards! I felt really bad about my haste to get married and have a little legal wedding to get everything rolling as none of my family can attend but I suppose this kinda relaxes me! We're going to get married-married the week after I get there and then rent a big old house in Vegas in November and my family will attend and have a Las Vegas ceremony which will be 'different' ;)

Thanks for all the kind words about my dress!

We talked about it, but chose not to do a courthouse wedding before the actual wedding. I agree with VicAus in that it takes away from the romance and experience a little bit knowing you don't get to do everything on your own terms and have to wait for when the government says you can get married. I am just putting that to the back of my mind, because if I were to choose, I would've chosen October anyway. We are "chancing" it a little bit by him doing his POE in July (if he has his visa by then) because our wedding will be day 82 of 90. He will be "out of status" for a couple weeks while we wait for our marriage certificate, but we will file AOS as soon as we get it. I know its not ideal, but we didnt want to sacrifice what we wanted just to start AOS sooner...although I COMPLETELY understand why others are doing it that way. It makes the most sense to do that! We are just stubborn and difficult LOL

Also adding cw&zm to the interview list!

May 27th- Sailor

June 5th- jgadsby

June 12th- cw&zm

June 24th- VicAus

And GOOD LUCK to Sailor who has her interview TOMORROW!!!!!! I wish you all the best and please update us as I'm sure we will all be on pins and needles :)
