The London embassy's email address I used is: LondonInfoUnit@state.gov

:)

Sent - thank you so much! I also sent one on the form on the London Embassy website, but they're closed for the day now, and I'm kind of itching to know! How long did it take for them to get back to you?

EDIT: Automated response from that email above:

In order to track and manage correspondence better, the Consular Section accepts inquiries only through the “Contact Us” form on our website<http://london.usembassy.gov/visa_contact_information.html.>.

If you have an enquiry about visa classifications, please visit the Embassy website - http://london.usembassy.gov/visas.html.

If you have an enquiry about scheduling an appointment to apply for a nonimmigrant visa, please visit http://usvisa-info.com.

If you have an inquiry about filing an immigrant visa petition, form I-130 or nonimmigrant visa petition form I-129, including the I-129F, please visit www.uscis.gov<http://www.uscis.gov> for further information.

If you have reviewed the information on our website and are unable to find the answer to your question, you can contact the Embassy via the website - http://london.usembassy.gov/visa_contact_information.html. Due to a high volume of enquiries, questions which are answered on our website will not receive a response.

So ignored that and just sent the same email again the next day and finally got a date the next evening! This was maybe two weeks ago and I finally got my letter today! Considering my interview is in two weeks I'm glad I emailed aha!

I guess they only reply via that email address then, doh! Looks like you can only email that address once they've contacted you. On my email from that address:

'If you have any further questions regarding this matter, you may reply to this email. Please ensure that you include the entire email chain, or your correspondence will be deleted.

Please note that if your query is answered on our website<http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/index.html>, you will not receive a further response'

My bad ;)

Hah! Goodness, yeah... I'm going to keep at it until I get that date - I've heard that the embassy can be really cumbersome when it comes to sending out those letters. They really should somehow link it to the CEAC status so this wouldn't be a problem...

I can't be dealing with getting the letter 2 weeks before the interview like you did - I can save a ton of money by booking train tickets far in advance (I live quite far from London), and I'd like to get the time off work in good time. Plus I like to mull things over in my head for weeks, and knowing the date now would let me do that ;)

Thank you again!

yes, this has been helpful! Jake is in the same boat--he lives in Edinburgh, so a train or airfare to London is expensive unless booked carefully, and buses take a hella long time for not much cheaper.

Also, I am in the UK and we want to go on holiday to Isle of Skye about three weeks after our medical. I doubt we'll get an interview by that time, but we'd like to know as soon as possible when our interview date is so we can book it quickly! >:( CEAC, do better.

2/3/14 I-129F Mailed

6/16/14 Embassy Interview--Approved!!!!

7/11/14 Marriage :)

7/25/14 AOS + Work Authorization Mailed to Chicago Lockbox

7/31/14 NOA1--Electronic Notification

8/26/14 Biometrics Appointment--Indianapolis

9/18/14 EAD approved--Electronic Notification

2/15/15 Notice of Interview Waiver (and Case Delay due to heavy processing load)

5/5/15 RFE (Requested another certified copy of marriage license)

5/14/15 Submitted Materials for RFE

5/28/15 Greencard Approved/In Production!!!!!

My love is selfish. I cannot breathe without you. - Keats

Exactly! It should just be that you check CEAC and it has a field for 'interview date' (then 'Not assigned', or the actual date when it's been provided).

I'd venture to say the date of the interview affects everything. The date of the wedding, when family can visit (and when they can go on holiday - as they want to visit but don't know when to come/when to book time off work), flight prices (obviously the earlier booked the better...), how long I can work for, when I can see my friends... I just want to know!

Maybe, as I'm working in IT, I'll try and get a job there and sort the CEAC page out myself! ;)

I am actually chancing it big time with a wedding date... Right now we planning for August 30th. HUGE risk but I am a teacher and school starts August 21st with no long break until November. First year back in the states so taking time off is not an option.

Lets hope things start picking up speed!

Edit: We are going through an agency here in China (I just like to keep up with things because I am not a sit back and wait kind of person) and he said August 30th should be completely doable. Lets hope he is right.

I'm optimistic for you! I'm a teacher too, and I have had to get official permission from my principal for taking some time off in October. The reason we chose that date is because it's spring break in South Africa, and Fall break in Europe. We have his family from SA coming and also some dear friends from Denmark coming also. We start back on August 11. booooooo lol I'm glad to see I'm not the only gambler in the group! ;)

Yeah I actually do not have a job yet in the states (I work in China right now) so I am worried about taking a bunch of time off. Lets hope that it does work in our favor. This is a gamble for sure. the bigger gamble is my plane leaves July 28th from China. We are hoping he will be on the plane with me. Luckally we are having a very small wedding. Sounds like an awesome wedding. It does sound like October 11th wil be a perfect date. It is such a good feeling having so many people from all over to attend. Go teachers! August 11? WOW that is early!

That's exactly what the advisor told me - that they don't handle K1 cases any more, and they gave me the NVC number (+1 603 334 0700) to call. He did say that it'll say 'line busy' a lot, but to keep trying and I'll get into the queue eventually. So there is a way!

I'm determined to get this interview date. It's really important I get it sooner rather than later, as it dictates basically all the family plans! I'll be flying out almost as soon as I get my visa (probably a week after the interview) - and it'd be so nice to actually have a better idea.

I'll keep trying and let you know! Thanks for your help! :)

Both me and my USC fiancé have rang the NVC chasing an interview date - they claim they do not have this info and only the Consulate would know.

I have a London number for the Consulate but it is information/recorded message only. There is a visa appointments line but it is for NIVs only.

So basically, yes, the only way is to email.

I've sent a couple over the past few weeks (unrelated to interview) and always had a response within a few days.

I surprised her with a proposal in Los Angeles, and this is how it went down!
