My fiancé still hasn't received packet 3 and our case has been marked "ready" since May 1st. He had his medical today and he already filled out his DS -160 and readiness form. Should he call the consulate and let them know he never received his letter?

Hey Nikki, Jake got his letter from the embassy today--it's a plain white envelope with a small black stamp (casual, and off center on ours) saying Immigrant Visa Branch United States Embassy, then the London address. Inside it's a poorly folded single sheet of paper with info on it....our case was received on May 6th at the Embassy and his Packet 3 received today, May 10th.....hope that helps you decide what to do--though it's so nondescript maybe he missed it?

You're welcome! For some reason, I am the DHL genie LOL

YOU ARE. It's insane. I consider myself quite a capable person, and am guessing everyone on here feels similarly about themselves and their capcity, yet NO ONE can find their waybills except you.....it is magic or genius or both.

Could not agree more! And I too find myself to be quite tech savvy. No match for DHL

LOL, thanks. I swear I don't do anything special. There's a thrill in the search for me (I know I'm a geek haha). If anyone else wants me to hunt down a waybill # for them, I'm game! Let me know :)

Hey everyone!

I am sorry if this question has been answered or not, however, my fiance's paperwork arrived at the embassy however it is saying that it is under Administrative Processing and can take a few weeks to process through. Anyone else have experience with this? I am worried that it will really hold up our visa.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I think at this point you can call. I am not sure though. I think it's processing in the system which requires time as you are not the only person (sadly lol).

If I am mistaken someone please correct me. I am not at this point yet. (March filer)

Thanks! The way it was sounding though it was going to take longer for this to be processed than it did for my NOA2?!

So it's at the embassy in China already and you haven't had your medical or interview yet? I've seen CEAC going into "Admin Processing" for post-interview statuses, but I haven't really seen it before. Is it because they are back-logged or something?

I think the other poster is right, though--you can call the embassy or even the National Visa Center on the US end of things to see what it may mean...I'd call the NVC first, if it were me, because I know the UK embassy charges per minute for their calls......but it may be different in your beneficiary's country....

Best of luck! And if it concerns you, start a new thread elsewhere--people will come!

Thanks so much! It might be because of a high number of people. I just hope it does not take long. My fiance is still waiting on his packet 3 and 4 so we are just past the NVC stage. We are going through an agency so if it does not get processed soon I will ask him to call the agency and ask. I just have a very hard time waiting to hear from them because they are not always the quickest to update you on information. Their theory is just let us worry about it. It is hard for me to call anyone in the states because I actually live in China as well. I am a teacher here and met my soon to be hubby through a friend. So we have been doing all of our filing from here. How long of a wait has everyone else been seeing to show as ready once it made it to the embassy?

Here this may help:

This is what is says as an explanation

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed or available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.
