Hey guys! I called NVC yesterday and finally got our new case number, woo! I checked CEAC and our case says "In transit," but also had this message "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." When I talked to the guy at NVC he didn't mention an interview date? Is this just a standard message and no interview date was actually set yet? My fiancé hasn't booked his medical yet because he's waiting on his police certificate. Just wondering. Also, when should he fill out DS-160? Can he do that before he has his medical booked?

For those that are still waiting, every day that passes I hope for good news for you!! I know the wait is agonizing, don't lose hope. Once you're approved and you don't have to deal with USCIS anymore, it will be so much easier!!

Congrats on NOA2! If you're a K1 filer, you don't get an interview date from the NVC. The London Guides say this too: just ignore it, you'll get sent a letter after the medical!

I say start on the DS-160 whenever--just make sure you have all your info (the UK filer's G25A comes in handy for remembering employer addresses, etc, but you'll need university and secondary school addresses and phone numbers too, passport #s blah blah) and SAVE any chance you get. That page likes to exit you out of it for no apparent reason. It's the notification of readiness you want to save until you book the medical. For notification of readiness: CEAC needs to say "Ready" (it has to have arrived at your consulate), you should have the medical booked, the DS-160 filled out, and your police report on the way (at least) when you go to fill out the readiness form.

He can also book his medical in London without the police certificate in hand--he just needs his LND case #. He can call the place that does the certificates to get an estimate on when he will receive it in the mail, and he can plan a medical date from there. But you also have time :) This helps if you haven't seen it yet: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/ (I assume that Wales still goes to the LND consulate....)

Thank you! I knew NVC didn't schedule interviews so I was a bit confused by that message! He's going to start DS-160 tomorrow and schedule the medical for two weeks from now. Do you need to send back Packet 3 stuff before filling in the readiness form? I don't think I saw anything regarding that. Thanks for all your help!

Packet 3 is the letter from LND telling you that your case has been received and they are ready to receive your forms / medical. It is the letter form of CEAC's "READY" Status--keep the letter, you need to bring it with you to the interview. However, "returning Pack 3" is simply submitting the notification of readiness. Then you get your interview letter after the medical results are received by the consulate....

At least that's what the London guides imply.....

My fiancé still hasn't received packet 3 and our case has been marked "ready" since May 1st. He had his medical today and he already filled out his DS -160 and readiness form. Should he call the consulate and let them know he never received his letter?

Hmm...you're ahead of me in the process, so I don't know. We just got a "READY" mark this week, but haven't received our letter. I'd ask Nich-Nick if you haven't added her as a friend on VJ by now.......or start a thread for LND Letters and she will come (she always does!) My guess is he should call, but according to the London guides LND consulate is notoriously bad about letters......I just know he needs the "Packet 3" letter for the interview itself.....I also know it costs money to call the LND consulate--you or he can send an e-mail to them ASAP in the meantime though, while waiting for advice from VJ experts.....

Hey Everyone! So I have one more quick question. First off I am a dork. I was using the shipper reference EXP __ APR 2014A. Well it left the NVC on MAY 8th. Sorry about that. Well I finally got it to work, however, I am unable to find any shipments going to Guangzhou on May 7th or May 8th. I did find one that left on May 5th. Is it possible ours left that early? Or am I jumping the gun again and it didn't leave till the 9th? Thanks again!

Edit: And now I am not able to see ANY shipments for May 8th. I am thinking my internet is giving me trouble (like usual)

Yes that is China. People Republic is the official name. There are two cities that do K1. Guangzhou and Hong Kong. We are out of Guangzhou
