Hi everyone, I just called NVC and got our case number :-) super happy- woot woot

Sharing all the good vibes to my co february filers :-)

Wonderful news! Good luck. I have decided to put it in my calendar to start rechecking 4 months from filing date. Otherwise, I will lose my mind as I called today and because of weather the staff is cut down. Thats been this whole winter so Im sure backlog is deep at TSC. In the meantime I will be traveling to him in 16 days. then I will plan something in May/June to keep something to look forward to. I've also started thinking about the wedding which is an awesome distraction but its hard to plan when one has no clue WHEN this might take place. lol so Im focused on Nov14-Jan15. That way I've time to get things in motion a bit. Plus I think we can do a sweet destination wedding (in DR) on our 1st anniversary to celebrate our love with his side of the family too. Maybe// maybe not depending on timing and cost of everything BUT at least its something to keep busy!

I am a Feb filer! Sent out the package Feb 14th they received it Feb 18th. My notice date is Feb 20th for my NOA 1 and my last update was my alien number was changed on Feb 25th. Now just waiting for anything new checking the site a few times a day being some kind of obsessive weirdo. At least my guy will be here to visit me next month for 2 short weeks. Decided I didn't want to wait alone :o

That's correct vaccinations aren't required for the k1 although some consulates are a bit iffy about it and tell you to have them done at the medical. The offical word on it is:

K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination.

Is there a list of vaccinations we will need? I'm pretty sure I'm up to date, but it would be nice to feel like I have something to "do" during this wait. :D

Here is what Im gonna do,

after I get my NOA2 (Hopefully soon God), I will call the clinic in Turkey, give brief info about myself, and ask which vaccinations I need to get. In this way, I won't have to get them during medical. I think list of vaccinations may vary country bu country.

Everyone immigrating to the USA requires exactly the same vaccinations, I think these are the current required vaccinations, some of them certain people will not need due to factors such as age, time of application, if they've had chickenpox before, ect:

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids

Pertussis

Haemophilus influenzae type B (Age specific)

Hepatitis B (Age specific)

Seasonal flu vaccine (If your filing between October-March)

You'll need to visit your doctors before your medical to get your current vacination record which will be required for Adjustment of status in the US aswell. So it's best to have a word with them about the availability of the vaccinations, I know that at the moment my local doctors will not give me one of the vaccinations because it's in short supply! I had to print out a list of vaccinations I needed and show them to my doctor because she wasn't sure which ones were needed so be prepared! :)

Ashleyphilly, here is a link to your country's embassy: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Turkey&cty=Ankara

There is a specific section listed for vaccinations.

What we did: My fiance is coming from Ireland (that embassy page has a specific itemized list of which vaccinations are required), but was born and raised in South Africa. He contacted his mother in SA and had her ship a notarized record for this. Then, because we're also including a 9 year old son, he went to his son's doctor and got a copy of his vaccinations. Now when they go to do the medical, they will already have records for this. In the US, we can get them from doctors, some county records offices and schools. (If I'm not mistaken, the US has/is working on a national vaccination database. I think my daughter's school got hers from that when we moved to California in 2009)

Sailor, I'm sure you're right. :) I just linked Ankara's embassy because someone made specific suggestions. The Dublin embassy listed them individually. I wondered if all embassies do that. I really only checked out Ireland. :)

I didn't mean that rudely or anything! I had to spend a couple of hours researching it and praying to god that it was all right because my doctor had absolutely no idea about the vaccinations and I didn't want to get any extra stabbings! :')

Got my noa1 text message the 28th. Alien number changed march 5. Im at TSC. Vj estimate tells me expect noa2 april 5-28. I am prepared for 5 months but could this estimate be anywhere close to accurate? I see they have about 75% of nov done and almost 50% of dec, so I am hoping to be a lucky one and get a quick turnaround like all the other hopefuls.
