Hi all!

It has been a busy few weeks since getting my visa....now i am starting to get the adjustment of status package ready to mail off.....could someone confirm the amount we need to pay? and if a regular cheque is ok?

Thanks in advance

Xo

I just wrote a regular check for the amount. I think it's $1070 for one person, but we also had a K2, so I'd double check. :) Congratulations!! :D

Hey guys! Quick question.. What's everyone doing for health insurance? I had been on my father's insurance still, but that will expire at the end of the year. My workplace does not offer insurance, so we are going to have to look for our own. Does anyone have cheap but decent coverage? The few times I've looked into it, I started feeling very overwhelmed!!

I'm no help there at all. :( I was able to add them both to my work insurance. What about obamacare? Idk how it works, but don't really know about it.

When did you file AOS/EAD/AP? Where is your local office?

Just curious for comparing things.

Good luck!

I've read that if you get the interview waiver it sometimes takes longer for approval, is that right? I was looking at Igor's list for AOS and the bulk of the approvals were from 2011!! That was a little bit disheartening to see.. As silly as this sounds we are already thinking about moving overseas in a few years but for convenience sake we would like to have his green card or even have him be naturalized first, but that seems ages away now! I was expecting for this to go a little bit faster!

Hi everyone!

It's been so long! We got married on Oct 4 and finalllly filed for AOS 2 weeks ago. We just felt like it was an overwhelming amount of paperwork so we kept on procrastinating. When we actually started getting everything together though it didn't seem as bad haha!

Right now, I'm still keeping myself busy with furnishing and decorating our house while waiting for my EAD. We pretty much started off with nothing furniture-wise. Chris is in the military so he didn't need anything up until now and I didn't bring any of my stuff.

The past weeks have been so exciting, though! We love being around each other every day and enjoy every minute of it :) It still feels a little surreal that we LIVE together now!

I hope all of you guys are doing great! Fingers crossed our USCIS 'adventures' won't take too long!

Hi everyone,

Just an update; Finally received my passport back last Thursday but had to wait until Saturday to leave due to the snow storm in Buffalo.. Let me tell you, 9 hours of driving with Christmas music really gets you in the holiday spirit! We are doing the whole court-house wedding (big wedding in the future) and flying grandparents in.

I'm relieved and anxious because I know we are past a major hurtle but now we have to file for AOS/EAD... grrr...

Did anyone else see the fox news broadcast where they say that people who filed the LEGAL way are just chumps, because of Obama allowing the illegal immigrants the opportunity to file and remain in the US? I'm pretty sure ALL of us deserve our paper work to be completed before any of theirs get touched! - Just my rant for the day haha.

Rich went alone and there was no issue!

Boy are we getting fed up of waiting for EAD!!!! He has had some interviews but nothing too hopeful so far. It's hard enough to live on my salary alone, let alone with the holidays coming up and buying gifts for our big families. Come on EAD!!! We're waiting for you!! :clock:
