All I know is what an educated group of black women said being interviewed on PBS a half dozen years ago. They were single because they cannot find a black male that match their status in society. They were strong successful black women. Had their own businesses , worked in the corporate world, Had made the American dream....The lack of black males that could meet their standards were the norm. (not my words ... theirs)

I was slightly offended by the former. My upbringing was solidly middle-class in an unbroken home, and I benefited from an outstanding education. I'm not the only brown girl I know who could say the same.
