Help Needed: N400 applications potentially mixed

I need some advice.

- Filed N400 application (Jan 2014) at the same time with wife.

- We prepared two separate applications, wrote two separate checks, put them in two separate envelopes but sent to USCIS within one single fedex envelope.

- Both checks were cashed within one week.

- I thought this was going in the right direction: until my wife received two separate e-mails with two separate receipt numbers noted. And I received nothing.

- When I checked the case files online it said they are both processing. But could not see under whose name the applications were processing. I thought I would wait for I797C and verify the names.

- Today we received my wife's I-797C in the mail. And I still got nothing.

Is there a chance (although they cashed two checks separately and assigned two different receipt numbers) they might have mixed applications and attached both case numbers to my wife ?

As of today: There are two separate checks cashed, two separate cases processing, and only one I797C received.

What would be the best way to proceed with this ? Any suggestions greatly appreciated?

Thanks in advance.
