No visa to enter USA????

Hi,

I was just in line to buy some food at the store and mentioned to the cashier that Filipinos can't get into the usa without some kind of visa.

A lady behind me interupted the coversation to say that her Filipino friend was just here visiting for 2 weeks and didn't need a visa. I assured her she was wrong and she continued to say that her friend only needed a passport, no visa!!

So am I wrong? I have been reading laws and posts for months about visas, entering the USA, etc, and only read that EVERY Filipiino who comes to USA must have a visa to enter.

So what do you say??

Interview 6/24

Oath 8/13 Done.... and DONE!!!! :-)

Perhaps her Filipino friend is actually a citizen of a country that is one of the 27 countries involved in the visa waiver program, like Andorra, Iceland, Norway, Australia, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Italy, San Marino, Belgium, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Finland, Monaco, Sweden, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand, and United Kingdom.

No visa required to visit from one of those countries.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

yea that could be it..... this lady was old(older than me,hehehe) and there was know explaining what I have learned over the past year here at VJ :-)
