those of you who ever looked for retail jobs as sales associate/ customer services how long does it take to get them? i want to work in the mall or in the military post. i started to apply last week and patience is not by myside having stayed at home 4 months waiting EAD ,SSN etc ughhh will life ever be easy!!!!!

A smaller shop might hire you on the spot, especially if they need someone soon. But the hours might not the best (that is why so many would just quit on the spot too.

A post with a bigger place, like Target or a department store will likely have a process and that can take sometime. SOme of it is seasonal, depending on when you live, some of those seasonal posts would change; for example, Spring is around the corner in South Texas, so they will be looking for staffing the garden and plants sections.

Are you for real? Why are you so rude to someone trying to give advice? Advice that's the truth. If you don't want honest answers you shouldn't ask a question.

Honestly, from my experience. If you are not able to work weekends, holidays or overnight shifts you have no chance at all at any big retail company. I would suggest maybe a small shop, but chances are near to zero. If you try to apply online the system would automatically reject you from continue to further steps in the application. I applied to several places, and went to several interviews as well, but when I slightly mention it would be nice to have some weekends off I knew my interview over. What I did was I landed the first job they hired me. It was for a waitress position, then after a couple of months I got weekends off and that's the only reason I'm still there.
