Hey y'all,

I believe to have all my forms filled out correctly and all my necessary information, but I just wanted to get my ducks in a row and if you guys could give my list a look over and let me know if I'm missing anything or should assemble something differently, I'd really appreciate it. I'm heading to the post office tomorrow morning, yay!

*Overall Cover Letter* (I won't copy and paste that but it lists all the forms I'm filing, acknowledges that I'm filing the I-130 and the I-485 concurrently and reads "ORIGINAL SUBMISSION" on it.

I've also made a "title" page for each of the above forms to put in between each other, since I plan to put the I-485, I-864 and I-765 all together in a manila envelope. The I-693 was unfortunately put in a larger manila envelope so I can't really put that inside another one, so I made a title page for it separately and I was just going to line it up in order according to the cover page. I was going to put the I-130 in a separate manila envelope since it's still a separate application, but I've seen some people say to just put it all in one?

Any "attachment" I have listed, including all the cover pages, will have my wife and I's signature and date on them. All pictures were labeled with names, dates, and location.

Hey guys, sorry, another stupid question...

I was reading the "Tips for Filing" page and it says to make sure you include the applicants name on the memo portion of your check. Would it be correct to put my spouses name for the I-130 cheque since she is applying/petitioning and to put my name on the I-485 cheque because I'm applying? I don't know how serious they are about that but you know, just wanting to double check...

Also, our cheques are in both are names, so does it matter if I sign both the cheques or would it be better for my wife to sign the I-130 cheque?

It doesn't matter who signs the checks (cheques.. that cracks me up. sorry) as long as it's good! I'd put on the memo line "Petitioner for Beneficiary" (meaning your names)

Okay. I put "I-130 by [spouse's name]" and then on the other cheque "AOS for [my name]" do you think that's okay? I'd normally just re-write the cheques but I'm running low atm and our bank besides the ATM location isn't located in this state so I'd have to order them and wait and blah blah blah.

Yeah, we got it so it would be helpful to pay and do cross border banking, but we signed up in Canada and were told there were branches in Alabama, turns out the closest one is in Georgia. We can use the PNC atm and online banking though so it really isn't a huge issue, for the most part.

FYI, you can order Checks online through just about anyone, and they're cheaper than going through RBC.
We keep RBC for the same reason, we still have Canadian bills and it's handy for the in-laws to deposit money in Canada for holidays and birthdays

The memo really doesn't matter, that "advice" should be removed because USCIS does electronic debit anyway so you will never see a copy of that check. They know how to take money, no labeling needed.
