Hello, Friends!

We filed I-485 petition 4 months ago. After one month biometric taken. after one more month EAD sent and status changed to "Testing/Interview".

Since that time no word, no RFE for whole two months. Was calling to USCIS several times. answer "Case in NBS". The person filed for us request about interview day, number of request was given to us, but this week will be 30 days from that day and no any word. Just one person gave offer for us to do-after some days "file request about that request". Could be sitting on #### flat but actually declared USCIS processing time for this type of petition for our local office is short and actually same 4 months. will be this week since we filed. Getting frustrated with this process. Any good idea?

If you're adjusting from K-1 (as I think your incomplete timeline indicates) then you're in a perfectly normal time range. Check out the threads of April (2013) and May and June filers, many of whom are still waiting for their GC as well. Four months is nothing to worry about -- it can take up to 10-11 months and a few unlucky ones have been waiting over a year.

Adjusting from K-1, you have about a 50/50 chance of getting an interview. If you are NOT interviewed, then you just wait for a long time and eventually receive a decision with no further action on your part. If you are selected for interview then yes, it's a shorter wait, but four months doesn't seem out of the ordinary at all.

Relationship since April 2006

K-1 Visa: I-129F filed November 6, 2012, NOA2 May 17, 2013, Interview and Approval July 24, 2013

AOS filed November 19, 2013, EAD/AP received January 30, 2014, interview and AOS Approval on February 27, 2014.

ROC filed December 3, 2015, NOA1 12/4/15, Biometrics 12/31/15, ROC Approval on June 16, 2016, 10-Year Green Card received June 22, 2016.

N400 filed September 14, 2023, same day acceptance and Biometric Reuse notice, Interview on 2/13/24: Passed and same day oath. ALL DONE WITH USCIS.

No RFE at any stage, thanks to VisaJourney!

As far as I have seen here when interview given it's usually in predictable time frame. I have met only one person who waiting for over 2 months after changing status to "Testing/Interview". The processing time for our office declared 4 months totally. I don't like lies given to me. no matter what level of . Actually I have plan.I'll keep updated who have interest. Thank you any way.

which city is NBS? I ask, cause you might actually be at a recently activated SERVICE CENTER and not any local office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

My idea is the same as Hypnos gave. Wait for your interview letter/date. Check the timelines of others in the Progress Reports forum. Plenty wait longer than 4 months.

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based main to Progress Reports sub-forum - topic is case status ~

Sorry. mistake was typed, NBC.

This was said about my case sitting there by live person via 1-800... USCIS phone number. They don't have times, they dispatching cases to all other places.

Local office correct, checked 3 months with updated times. always 4 months declared, it's San Antonio,TX

which city is NBS? I ask, cause you might actually be at a recently activated SERVICE CENTER and not any local office.

i dunno - some Tier 1 CSRs call The National Benefit Center 'NBC' when it's actually coded up at MSC.

If you have not asked casefile location with an ISO, you might want to do that Tuesday.

Super Duper Hint - CSRs file useless service requests, all the time.

An ISO can tell you of the exact location of the casefile without any service request, as it's in front of their eyeballs, on their screen. A CSR cannot usually see this, they have lower levels of access.
