I filed for AOS on 12/20/2013 and got NOA1 dated 12/24/2013. But still no Bio-metric appointment.

I registered a service request online, about 10 days ago. I tried calling the 1-800 number , the customer service representative did not have any information on why there was no Bio-metric appointment.

What should I do?

Have you checked your case statuses online? https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

If not I would first look there and then failing that I would call the 1800 number again but ask to speak to a Tier 2 human.

Call back and ask to speak to a tier 2 supervisor. It's possible that you didn't get the notice and have missed your appointment, they usually happen within 30 days of your NOA1.

also... On what basis are you adjusting status? What is the priority date on your NOA-1? Going by your timeline it isn't via marriage to a USC so your priority date may not be current yet.

Thanks for your replies.

On what basis are you adjusting status?

I am married to a USC.

I check the dash board for status change everyday. I-485 is still in "Acceptance" and everything else is in "Initial Review".

My lawyer says its common for them to take longer to dish out bio-metric appointments.

Will this in anyway delay the interview date?

I spoke to a tier 2 Representative today. They said that my case is in the Lee's Summit, Missouri office and they are severely back logged and it might take about an year for them to get to my file. I cant believe this !!!!!ranting33va.gif

Am I missing something here? every body else seems to be done with 3-4 months...

Hello,

It happened to me as well :(

i got biometrics appointment after 2 months of filing my case.

What i did was, called them and have them open a service request.

I had to do it twice thought.

So, keep on calling them untill you get the appointment .

In my case my EAD was approved before they issued my biometrics appointment but they didnt issue my EAD card as they were waiting for my biometrics.

Once i gave my biometrics, in hour or two i saw Approved status for my EAD. So, hopefully all is well with your case as well.

Good luck :)
