Hi all, :help:

I know this question has been asked before but never really answered (well, i couldn't find any satisfying answer ; ), but what would happen if I sent my N400 and then moved to another state?

You see, my application is ready to send, but there's a possibility that with my husband's job we might have to move in the next few weeks or months. Then what? I don't really want to have to wait 3 more months after moving, I'd like to avoid the new fees since everybody seems to suspect that they will go up soon... can't really afford that.... know what i mean?

Anyway i was just wondering if somebody had ever been in that situation and could help us out. :bonk:

Thanks guys!

Happy New Year! Let's hope it will be a GOOD one.

Why not wait until after you move and then file the petition?

Anytime a person moves while a petition is in process with the USCIS it becomes a big problem getting the address changed in their systems. NOA, and RFE's won't get forwarded by the post office, they will return them to USCIS. Interview appointments, and cancellations also tend to get messed up.

Remember when you do move, you will need to file form AR-11 within 10 days and Form I-865 within a month.

Wow, i read the post you sent me, this is SCARY. Yeah, i definitely DON'T want that to happen to us, so I might as well wait... I didn't want to because to apply for citizenship you have to live at least 3 months in the same state (and we are going to change of state, you see), and that's just a pain to wait even 3 more months when everything is ready now. Plus, as i said, I want to avoid the new fees if they indeed go way up in the spring. But i guess it's better to pay more and to wait a bit more than to go through hell if things are not forwarded properly...

In any case, thanks for your reply and good luck to you!
