recent tax year for affidavit of support

Hi,

My sponsor is submitting 2013, 2012 and 2011 federal tax returns copies for I-864.

My joint sponsor is submitting 2012, 2011 and 2010, as she hasn't filed her 2013 tax return yet.

Is this OK? Do the most recent tax years for my two sponsors have to be the same years?

until after April 15, the most recent tax is 2012, not 2013, so as long as both of you have 2012, you'll be fine

we just got an RFE leter and i did no file my taxes for this year yet so i also didnt have taxes the previous years due to unemployment and i wrote a statement stating why, but they still wanted 2013 evenhough i didn file yet so by the time we got the RFE i had filed so now i can send i to them. so def try to get the 2013 taxes if not possible and if they send you an RFE hopefully you have them by then. gooluck <3<3<3

Technically 2012 should be sufficient, BUT I remember that last year someone from my March 2013 AOS filers group got an RFE for not sending a 2012 return (even though 2011 should have still been enough at that point). So yes, I would probably try to send the 2013 return if you can... just in case.
