Our case is now in transit to usem and im planning to have my medical exam done in advanced. However, we dont have an interview schedule yet since our case was expedited. What document do i need to bring if i dont have the interview letter?

Is it the VERY FIRST email attachment i received from nvc containing my case number, invoice id number, beneficiary id number, us department of state logo and a couple of barcodes, and instructions to complete ds261???

I just really want to make sure since i will still be flying all the way from visayas. Pls enlighten me. Thanks! :)

They will ask for the interview letter from the NVC before they conduct your medical exam. It is very important. You should have it soon, so no need to rush into it without your letter.

Hi sportymom! :)nvc didnt send us an interview letter since we were expedited, they just sent the case directly to manila and told us to do the scheduling with the embassy. I have read that applicants can do the medical in advance even without the interview letter, they just have to present a letter from the nvc with the case number. I just want to know if the letter that they meant is the same as what i have here on hand.

If that is the case, I personally advise you to call the US Embassy before you make your trip to Manila. Good Luck to both your medical exam and interview! smile.png

OP, our case was also expedited. I was told the embassy will make the interview once they receive our case but that was not so. The embassy acknowledged the receipt of our case and requested the completion of the I-846 and the DS-260, both were done at the NVC stage. The embassy also requested we schedule the interview. We are still going back and forth with the embassy and the NVC to clarify things but we went ahead and scheduled the interview to not delay the process any further. I believe you will need the interview date to schedule your medical, have you looked at the requirement for your embassy online? that might give you the information you need. I tell you, this is some expedite....

K1 - Filed March 2011

- Denied March 13, 2012

- Placed in AP March 14,2012

- Sent back to USCIS November 2012

- Expired March 2013

WASTED A YEAR FIGHTING THE DENIEL

MARRIED MARCH 15, 2013

1-130 Approved 3/3/2014 :-)

Finally made it home 3/18/2014

Hi I think you can do your medical without interview confirmation letter, just as long as you have a document with your case#, name of the petitioner and beneficiary. But to be sure just call St. Lukes. Don't forget to bring 2pcs of passport sized picture, pen and your original passport.

To the OP: my case was expedited from NVC as well. I paid all the AOS/IV fees online and my wife also completed the DS-260 online. NVC received my Affidavit of Support documents and my wife's documents last Friday. How long does it typically take them to ship the case to the Embassy?

Thanks and keep us updated about your medical exam!

Justin

I called St Lukes in Manila before my wife had the interview letter in hand. We then set up her medical and she was allowed to take it. Call St Lukes and make sure you get the name of the person you spoke to and confirm with them if you can go ahead and schedule the appointment early. Make sure they tell you exactly what you need to bring...note their name, the dat and the time that you called. If the guards outside gie you a hard time refer to the notes you kept and they will most likely let you in. But of course as we know there are no guarantees in this process.

Good luck and

God Bless

Upon receipt of my docs, nvc still had to review them..ours took 2-3days for case complete and another 2 days before the case left the nvc building. You should keep calling and ask for any updates with regards to your case.

I would suggest calling one more time before you fly to Manila. Again get the name and note the date and time of the call and who you spoke to. You should be okay as long as you bring document/s that have the case number on them as well as the names of the persons who told you you could come. The guards are usually pretty nice as long as you are nice to them. A smile goes a long way there.

Good luck and most importantly,

God Bless
