Derivative beneficiaries and number of visas available (split topic)

greetings

there are 50000 visa for 50000 person each year

My question is are 50000 person including their families or not

Example If i am a winner with case number x , and I am married and I have 2 children ( total 4 persons)

If I succeeded to pass the interview

am I considered 4 visas out of the 50000 or one visa out of the 50000?

That's incorrect, it is 4 out of the 50000 visas - although it is all on one case number. The allotment is 50000 visas per year, not 50000 selectees plus their derivatives... You can see this clearly in the details of the "issued" stats they release at fiscal year end too.

It's 50,000 total visas.

It's not 50,000 DV winners and unlimited numbers of derivatives.

Same rules as the family preference categories.

Technicality: it's 55000 visas, but with 5000 set aside for nacara. These can be reallocated to other DV categories though and seems some have been in past years. But the 55000 is a hard maximum on the number of DV visas that can be issued within a FY, *including* derivatives.
