Was in line at 5am, got funneled into line at 6am. Fingerprinted about 7:15am. Paperwork dropped the next window and I went into the USA side and paid the fees, was not charged the 88$ AOS fee (NVC expedited), just the 230$ application fee. Interview 8am, received receipt 8:15am and was in taxi and eating breakfast at the hotel by 8:45am.

Question were: what is your last name

Have you been married before

How long have you been married

What is your name and birthday

Do we have house in the states.

Photos of wedding

Done

Now to wait for the passport delivery to 2go and then GCC stamp and exit clearance for my USA citizen son. SWEET!!!

Thanks for all that have helped getting to this point!

Jeff

yes the lady who did the interview said your approved as she stamped the paper. my friend who brought a fiance over in 2012 also told her approved. i had my son there and was right behind my wife. my little boy who is 19 months old was high fiving my wife and the interviewer had to go get the others there to see him.

One thing they did even before the interview started was to give my wife a pamphlet on domestic abuse, saying she would not lose her visa if something happened. That is not true because if she hit me and I called 911 she would automatically go to jail, I say this cause she has whacked me in the past and I have told her what will happen if she does it again. I guess she would not lose her visa, she is IR-1 status. I don't read Tagalog so I do not know what is in the pamphlet. Maybe I should start a topic on this...

Congratulations! smile.png Did they tell you you're approved right after the interview? I had my interview yesterday.. everything went well but they didn't tell me if I was approved or not. So now I am wondering if I passed. I checked my status and it still says "ready".

I just checked the status myself after reading your reply and it says ISSUED, you will receive the visa (passport) within 7-10 working days. Did they give you any other information?

Thank you for the response. They gave me that pamphlet after the interview. It has info on what to do and who to call in case I become a victim of domestic abuse.
Your timeline says your interview was Feb 3 (same as mine) and your visa is Issued already. That's so fast. Congrats! :) Mine still says "Ready". After my interview, they only told me that we (my K2 and I) can go home. They didn't tell me anything else or asked for other papers. I hope we're approved too.

Congratulations! When did you pay the IV fee? While waiting for your number to appear on the screen or after the Filipino consul asked you? Thank you! :)

After they called her # we turned the papers in and the guy at the window (filipino) then handed me a payment slip which i then had to take upstairs 230$. i brought it back down, maybe 5min later and they still had our number at the same window so i dropped off the receipt. it went very fast after that

i could have paid the fee online but the NVC said to direct everything to the embassy. if your spouse is there alone she or he would not be able to pay this fee upstairs. on the website for the AOS 864 fee it said not applicable so i saved 88$

Why not? I'll have my interview on the 10th. Also, what papers are you referring to?

Only US citizens are allowed upstairs I believe. I did not see a cashier on the 1st floor. due to the expedite I was instructed to pay for my spouses fees at the interview time. If you are expedited and your USC spouse is not there I would make sure all fees are paid in advance. I had no idea about this...but I am sure if that is your situation then you should make sure all fees are paid, spousal visa that is.

My IV instructions said to bring the DS-x form with me but they have it online so was not needed. The IV instructions seem a bit outdated and they referred to a K1 visa which was not the case. I am glad the good people on VJ are here to help guide and advise.
