I'm finally a US CITIZEN There were 164 of us. The Notice told us to report 1 pm so we were there early by 11:30 then only to find out when a lady told us that the actual ceremony is 3 pm, we were all lol especially family with little kids but she explained that it's because the participants needs to go to security check to make sure everything is good to go. So by 1 pm we fell in line and we were instructed to prepare our N-445 form and green card. By the way to those who have not receive their N-445, fill it out and sign it on the day of your ceremony preferably at the Oath taking place because some people filled it up too early, so they had to changed it because it should be the place and date of the actual ceremony on the form. So I handed my GC (byebye greencard), I wish they should just let us keep it though as a souvenir in this long immigration process The officer then gave me a packet and an assigned seat number. It was a smooth process. The officer told us that if we make copies to our certificate, it should be black and white copies only, wonder why?. I'm very surprised that there's people there who did not agree to bear arms on behalf of the United states and they were naturalized, I think I heard it's because of religious reasons but I really thought that to become a US Citizen we should be willing to bear arms on behalf of the US Anyways, I am not in a hurry to apply for passport coz I don't have travel plans but will go to social security and DMV sometime this week for updates. I now have my Oath Ceremony Notice (N-445) in hand and I've been scheduled for a judicial ceremony on the 15th of August. Did not think it would be that soon, so looks like you were quite right, Mistere.

Updating timeline accordingly. My days of haunting these forums are swiftly coming to an end.

Now that the end of my journey is near, I've decided to wrap things up quickly once and for all:

1) I've already made an appointment with the Miami Passport Agency and will head over there directly from my Oath Ceremony to apply for my US passport so I can take an overseas trip

2) I'll also apply for the Passport Card in addition to the Passport Book. I like the idea Mistere implied about the Passport Card being a handy and portable ID which doubles as a bonafide proof of US citizenship. This way, I do not have to worry about the bulky, fussy naturalisation certificate

3) I shall send someone to the Social Security Administration on my behalf to have my records updated, but I may have read somewhere that Florida updates this automatically. We'll see

I will post details about the judicial oath ceremony (for those who care to know) along with specifics about my passport appplication. Once my signature timeline goes all green, I will not stick around these forums. Good luck to all of you.
