Here is the timelines.....

27th Jan - request sent to NVC for expedite

4th Feb - NVC approved expedite request

6th Feb - files sent from NVC to embassy (NWD)

10th Feb - files received at embassy (NWD)

Since then we are waiting for IL / instructions

Just wanted to share my update. Finally after waiting for 3.5 weeks we received response from US Travel docs saying our case is transferred to Mumbai consulate and asked us to contact them for interview date (which is US travel docs, again). In the mean time our case status showed 'as in transit' on 4th March and on 5th 'ready' again.

With not getting any meaningful update from travel docs-call-center, though team there had all the good intentions, I managed to speak to Supervisor at NVC and explained my case (given NVC approved my expedite request in < a week). She was super nice and supportive. She immediately wrote to embassy, took my number and promised to call me back as soon as she heard anything. I did not wait and called her back the following day...for an update. On 5th morning India time we received instructions from embassy and asked us to complete medical and schedule appointment online...finally. Still not out of the woods, but progress.

Supervisor at NVC was extremely caring and super-efficient. I called her this morning, not asking anything from them for a change……...but simply to thank her.

So my updated timeline reads as...

27th Jan - request sent to NVC for expedite

4th Feb - NVC approved expedite request

6th Feb - files sent from NVC to embassy (NWD)

10th Feb - files received at embassy (NWD)

28th Feb - DS 260 completed

4th March - Case 'in transit'

5th March - Ready and received email from embassy to schedule medical & then biometric/phone and consular interview.

Hi Naga,

yes these 3 things we need for fingerprint.

you got this confirmation page when you submitted and print out the DS-260 form. It's a separate page from form.

Good Luck.

You need the DS 260 confirmation page only and not the entire DS 260 form. After you log in to CEAC , click on "View" near the Ds 260 and then on top of page click on "Sign". that should take you to a page where it will allow you to print the confirmation page.

Things needed for your fingerprint appointment. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-iv-visaapply.asp

Step 7

For your Visa Application Centre appointment, you will need to bring:

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States with validity dates at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions). If more than one person is included in your passport, each person desiring a visa must submit an application.
  • Your DS-260 confirmation page.
  • Your appointment confirmation page.
  • One photograph as per U.S. visa specifications if the applicant is under 14 years of age See the Photos and Fingerprints page for more details.
