Stay, apply for AOS. The down side to this, you'll be stuck sitting around the house until all the paperwork is completed and you have a green card. The plus side, you'll be with your husband!

Welcome to Tennessee, from a fellow Tennessean!

ya,, I noticed that too... Usually the "fraud" brigade would be out in full force... They are kinda quiet. Maybe the threads a few weeks ago clarifying the legality if AOS quieted them down a little bit! To the OP... I too vote for the AOS route..

Definitely stay and AOS!

My situation is not exactly like yours but similarly I had zero plans to stay longer than my two week holiday on my most recent visit. We also had been visiting back and forth consistently for the past 4 years and counting.

This time however after my return flight to Canada was cancelled/rebooked a bunch of times due to storms and with other personal reasons, after a lengthy discussion we decided that I should remain in the US and change course from consular processing to AOS. I had to suspend all of my work contracts, still have all my personal effects and car in Canada so it's a bit frustrating but I'll gladly take the inconvenience in order to remain with my husband!

04/25/2009: First Met and not long after began a long distance relationship.

10/27/2012: Married

12/20/2013 Most recent US Entry. Two week visit intended - decided to switch from consular processing to AOS after change in circumstances.

The difference is they had a spontaneous marriage, didn't intend on marrying when they came to the US, therefore didn't try to skirt the system or commit fraud in any way.

Telling the feds you're coming for a visit, when really coming to get married, and then try to adjust status is fraud.

I have only been on this support site a week or two and I have had a few people quote me and make snide comments on me filing for AOS. I find it upsetting as me and my husband have been through so much to be together and I have 2 step-children to consider in this whole situation, Why would I leave my husband and stepchildren to go back to England and file, when I can stay here, file AOS and be with my family? I try not to reply to the snippy comments I have received so far LOL, but your comment did make me smile.... this particular thread has been refreshing dancin5hr.gif
