I sent my package on 1/8/2014, the next week I got an email and text version of the NOA1, and when I checked the status it said that it was recieved 1/9/2014. I thought wow thats quick. But its been over 3 weeks and they never sent the letter version of it. Should I call them? I know the paper version of NOA1 isn't really important but now I'm worrying that the email notification I got was for me of if they made a mistake. My current status is alien number has been changed on 1/14/2014. Has anyone else had to wait this long for the letter version of NOA1? Maybe it got lost in the mail.

Welcome to the forum.

A review of forum postings would reveal that many people never receive, or receive it much later, their I-797c I-129F Petition Receipt Notice (NOA1). It sounds like you have received an email notification with your receipt number, that is the important part of the NOA! notice. As such, you should be good to go, especially since you have subsequently received the "Alien number changed" notification.

Perhaps you should check with USPS and see if there are any issues with your mail delivery, that your mailing address is correct; and that USCIS has your correct mailing address?

Good luck on your visa journey.

I double checked that the address I put down was right, and it was. I've been getting my other mail just fine. I suppose its not really needed for anything, I'm just worrying that it signifies something is wrong. I didnt get any notification for the alien number changing, I just saw it when I checked the status.
