Yup I'm very well versed in that argument and those claims. What people who make that argument fail to understand is that no where in recorded history has the practice of racial based slavery been implemented until the US did it. The Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, etc . all practiced slavery and most people in world history has been enslaved at one point. People who have studied the institution of the American slave trade know this. He is very insulting with his word choice of things like America dabbling in it etc. Moderators may let him slide with his bs but I won't.

He sports that Confederate loser flag in his avatar for a reason.

If you were so versed in the debate, you would have simple answers for my reasonable questions.

"Racial based slave trade" Jinx you are going to have to make up your mind is race is a "social construct" or now.... seems when it serves your interest you recongnize it, when it doesn't it was a white fabrication.

Whites often enslaved whites, indians as well as others, it was about getting cheap labor.

Why no heartburn towards Arabs who shuttled twice the number of people into slavery (Often competing with Europeans). Does it matter the color of your master or captor?

Again, when you are able to compare America (or Europe) to its own higher standard you win.... but when you go outside and compare to the rest of the world.... well then, your answers get short and we learn nothing from them.

Scope of the trade[edit]

Historians estimate that between 650 and 1900, 10 to 18 million peoples were enslaved by Arab slave traders and taken from Africa across the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Sahara desert.[5][6][7][8] The term Arab when used in historical documents often represented an ethnic term, as many of the "Arab" slave traders, such as Tippu Tipand others, were physically indistinguishable from the "Africans" whom they enslaved and sold. Due to the nature of the Arab slave trade, it is impossible to be precise about actual numbers.[9][10][11]

Meanwhile, back on topic... Black is an adjective, not a racial term. If a cat were going around raiding hen houses I would like to know if it was a black cat. That way the neighbors could kill all the black ones and not waste time on the tabbies and calicos.

I don't have to answer your questions Danno, when have you answered mine?

You've already demonstrated that you are not interested in having constructive dialog and gain insight from a different perspective. You've already made up your own conclusions about me and everything I have said or going to say.

Your Arab argument proves what exactly? Arabs worked for the Europeans and Whites - who had never explored the depths of Africa. They called it the Dark Continent. I don't view the slave trade in a box like you falsely claim. I know everything about it from start to finish - among other subjects. I also have a great interest in Russian history particularly pre-Soviet, can you handle that?
